ADVENTURE THERAPY NETWORK
Let the adventure do the talking
Â
Adventure Therapy is a hands on approach combining the powerful benefits of nature-immersion and ones own tenacity and willpower. Adventurous activities facilitate the healing and growth of our brain by challenging limiting beliefs and overcoming challenges in real time with real life situations. Our adventure therapy retreats can be one on one or in small groups led by Dr. Benjamin Morrell and other Lit Clinic coaches.
Adventure Therapy can be anything from paddling boarding, hiking to skiing and mountain biking.

Anxiety and depression
Â
Individuals who experience anxiety and depression respond especially well to treatment when adventurous activities that stimulate flow state are included. They read and react to the terrain in front of them without worrying about possible outcomes. This is nearly the opposite of anxiety. Mountain biking can create a borderline euphoric experience that is highly effective at treating depression and anxiety.
 Our WHY
A big part of ATN's 'WHY' is to create a space to cultivate community and merge that with outdoor adventures.
Participating in group adventures like skiing or hiking offers massive of benefits, both for your physical health and mental well-being. When you're part of a group, you get that sense of belonging and community, which is incredibly important for mental health. Adventurous activities often require coordination and support from others, which builds a sense of teamwork and mutual reliance.
When you're with others, it’s easier to push past personal limits. You can encourage each other, whether it’s tackling that steep hiking trail or learning to ski.
Getting out of your usual environment and into nature can be a huge stress reliever. Fresh air, beautiful scenery, and physical activity all work together to help calm your mind. On hikes or on the slopes, you’re less likely to be checking your phone. This disconnection from technology and social media can help reduce feelings of overwhelm or burnout.
You’ll create memories that you and your group can reminisce about for years to come. These shared experiences can be a great way to deepen relationships, especially when recalling funny moments, challenges overcome, or moments of awe.
Group adventure activities like skiing and hiking aren't just about physical exercise; they offer a holistic experience that can enhance your social life, mental health, and sense of adventure. Whether you're bonding with friends or making new ones, overcoming challenges together, or simply soaking in the natural beauty, the benefits are wide-ranging.
